It’s been a while since my last update (again), but I have a few new features I’m excited to show.
Disc Edit Station
Welcome to your personal disc customization hub! At the Disc Edit Station, you can design discs that are uniquely yours by selecting the background patterns, foreground graphics, and tweaking their flight characteristics. Each change you make will immediately be applied on the testing disc in front of you, allowing you to test and tune your discs however you like.
As you progress through the game and conquer challenges, you’ll unlock even more patterns and graphics. Just head over to the Disc Edit Station to apply your latest and greatest unlocks.
Once you’ve crafted your disc, you can equip it for immediate use. Simply reach behind your nifty, invisible magic bag, grab a disc, and cycle through your equipped discs, with each icon accurately representing your customization options. With this setup, you’ll always have the right disc for any situation, and no one but yourself to blame for any misses!

Baskets
There are some new baskets scattered around the menu island. These will be your playground for practicing your shots. Sink one and watch fireworks light up the sky!
Each basket has 12 simulated chains, segmented into four parts each to help cradle your discs into the basket. Since these add up quickly with each new basket, and I want to allow for any numbers of them on a map, each set of chains have a dynamic activation system that ensures minimal performance impact. Essentially, the chains will only engage their physics simulations when either a player is in proximity and facing the basket, or a disc comes within a range where interaction is possible. This reduces the number of simulated physics objects by about 90% for a typical 18-hole map.

Tracking Your Disc
And for a small last update, there were a few changes made to help keep track of the disc while it’s in flight. Once a disc get past a certain distance in VR, it can get hard to keep track of, so each disc has a ‘shadow’ that is visible through walls, as well as leaves a trail letting you trace it’s journey through the air. And if you still miss any part of it, you’ll be able to replay you’re last throw at any time with the press of a button.
Trails will also be customizable at the Disc Edit Station, allowing you to pick the color that best matches each disc.
That’s all for this update, stay tuned for more updates coming your way soon(ish).
Until next time, happy throwing!
